CHAPTER MEETINGS

The mission of the American Wine Society (AWS) is to promote the appreciation of wine and wine tasting through education and enjoyment of wine. As the North Wake Chapter of AWS, our goal is to help our members discover how to appreciate and enjoy the various aspects of wine and develop their own unique palate for wine tasting.
We do that by offering a monthly wine-tasting event that broadens our education about wine. We bring in various speakers from the wine-making industry including owners, distributors, and other people who are educated in all aspects of wine. And it's a great way to meet others who also enjoy drinking and sharing good wine.

North Wake Chapter

The North Wake Chapter of the American Wine Society brings people from Wake Forest and the surrounding area who enjoy wine tasting and wish to share their knowledge with others. The group meets at the Heritage View Club or sometimes at other special venues on the 4th Sunday of every month from 4 to 6 pm.
The chapter was created in mid-year 2011 by Rick Davis and Scheryl McDavid. Both were AWS members and had been attending meetings of the Triangle Chapter. They decided there was enough potential interest in the Wake Forest area to start another chapter.
Each month the chapter offers a wine-tasting event that broadens members' education and enjoyment of wine. Various speakers offer presentations from the wine-making industry including owners, distributors, and other people who are educated in all aspects of wine.
